PRODUCT REVIEW: GOLIATH SQUAWK THE EGG-SPLOSIVE CHICKEN GAME

Time to get my two little boys toy testing again, this time with the Goliath Squawk Egg-Splosive Chicken Game..

This game is a game intended for kids aged 4 and up - mainly as it contains small parts, so it is not recommended for little ones below three years of age. You can play it with 2-4 players.

To play the game, you throw the dice to see how many times you need to poke the chicken, until she opens up her hen house and lays an egg. If nothing happens, the next player rolls, until the chicken lays an egg, the chicken leaning slightly forward and the egg rolling out the back of the coop. The player then cracks open the egg, to see if the fried egg side or the chick side faces up. There are six chick token in the game, and the player with the most chicks at the end, wins the game.

The game does require a little assembly, and also stickers added, which does require an adult, but it is quick and easy to do. It doesn't require any batteries, which is always great. The quality of the toy is great, and perfect for kids, and the bright yellow chicken has a funny expression on its face i, and not to mention the laud 'squawk' when the chicken is poked, is sure to be loved by all kids.

My two boys sure loved the funny squawk (my two dogs not so much!), and thought that it was hilarious when the chicken was leaning forward and laid an egg, and their laughs were, and are so priceless each time they play.

I love seeing them have so much fun, and the fact that it is a game of luck, and not skill, so nobody has an advantage over others, and anyone can win the game. I also love that the game has such simple rules that the kids can play it on their own, though adults will sure also get a giggle from this. And even our 2 year old (under supervision of course), has so much fun playing the game.

My only negative about this game, is that once it has been assembled, it no longer fits into the box it came in, so it becomes very difficult to store, and consequently keeping track of the necessary eggs, token and the dice, can therefore be challenging.

That said, it is such a fun game, and regardless of how many times my boys play it, the novelty just doesn't seem to wear off, and each squawk and laid eggs, and they cannot stop laughing - yes, the squawk is a little loud, and I guess, does get a little annoying after a while, but for the sake of your kids having fun, it is completely worth it.

So if you're looking for a fun game for your kids, or family time, you really should check out Squawk - it really is egg-cellent :-)

Goliath Squawk The Egg-Splosive Chicken Game - RRP: $49.95

PRODUCT REVIEW: SKINDINAVIA POST-MAKEUP RECOVERY SPRAY

As someone with combination skin prone to makeup, I have always struggled to get my makeup to stay put, without looking greasy. And one of those brands that I've always loved is Skindinavia for their lovely finishing sprays, so when their newest release landed on my desk, I was naturally very excited, so here are my thoughts on the Skindinavia Post-Makeup Recovery Spray..

What made me even more excited about the Skindinavia Post-Makeup Recovery Spray is the fact that it has been made with a selection of nutrients, including mineral zinc that is clinically-proven to help prevent breakouts and clear clogged pores, promoting luminous, clear skin - so in essence, perfect for my combination breakout prone skin.

The skindinavia make up finishing sprays, are very fine, almost weightless sprays, that not only helps set the makeup, they also help make it look nicer for a lot longer, without creasing, sliding or getting shiny for those of us with oilier skin, or drying out if you have a drier skin type.

The Skindinavia Post-Makeup Recovery Spray is to be sprayed on within 5 minutes of removing makeup, as the first step in your skincare, before applying your usual serums and creams.

Skindinavia has developed this spray, as research as shown that those suffering from breakouts and blemishes have lower levels of zinc than those with clear skin and that supplementing zinc can help reduce blemishes and breakouts by as much as 50%, as well as it also helps protect the skin's lipids and fibroblasts (the cells that make collagen) and thereby helping to reduce oil production, preventing clogged pores and resets skin by replenishing pH, minerals and vitamins.

The spray also contains ingredients such as witch hazel and magnesium to help keep the pores clear and keep the skin looking fresher. It feels so lovely on the skin, and the easy to use spray means it is super quick to apply, and as it also absorbs quickly, you can apply the rest of your skincare immediately.

This really is a great spray, and I love that it is made without parabens and is alcohol free, I also really love that with continued use, I feel that its anti-inflammatory ingredients has helped normalise the oil production in my skin and reduce breakouts and blemishes from developing, while soothing my skin and making it look clearer and fresher.

If you combination or oily skin, and suffer with breakouts, then you really should check this one out.

PRODUCT REVIEW: MESOESTETIC BODYSHOCK PUSH-UP

Sadly after two pregnancies, and breast feeding both, things are no longer as 'tight' as they used to be, so when the newest release from Mesoestetic Pharma Group, BodyShock Push-Up landed on my desk, I was naturally intrigued…

BodyShock Push-Up, is an at-home firming cream for the breasts and bum, aimed at making these areas firmer and more elastic again, reducing stretchmarks and combating things such as hormonal changes, weight fluctuations, pregnancy and breastfeeding, as well as too much exposure to the sun, which can all result in the skin becoming flabby.

The BodyShock Push-Up is made using African kigelia, hydrolysed vegetable proteins and amino acids, which help to stimulate the skin on the breasts and bum so that the skin's natural systems are synthesised and optimised, thus treating the main cause of flabbiness at the source.

BodyShock Push-Up not only promises to provide firming and tensing effect with stimulating properties, helping to repair tissues that have lost elasticity and firmness. It also helps to recover the skin’s plumpness, especially in the bum and breast area, also fighting stretchmarks while adding moisture and leaving the skin soft.

I must admit that I was a little sceptical, but with nothing to lose, I decided to put it to the test… So what did I think…

The BodyShock Push-Up cream comes with massaging instructions on how to best use and apply, and it is recommended to massage it into the skin on the breasts and bum once a day in the morning.

And after a few weeks of daily use, I am actually surprised to say that I am very impressed with the results of this cream as I was starting to see the results, and my skin was clearly looking more firmer and more toned. No, boobies and bum are not back to where they were pre-pregnancies and two times 16+ kg weight gains, but I am still very impressed, especially with the result on my breasts, which is also the area I was most wanting to treat, and here I felt that the skin also appeared more plump.

The actual cream has a light consistency, and it absorbs quickly and easily into the skin, and without any greasiness, so you can get dressed immediately. I also love that it is super gentle, so it is also suitable for those breast implants as well as you can even use it during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Now why wasn't this launched earlier!!

At $150 this BodyShock Push-Up cream doesn't come cheap, but as we all know, these areas are difficult areas to treat, and if the alternative is expensive, and possibly invasive professional treatments, then this is a great alternative that will still save you money.

If you're looking to tone up a little after pregnancy or weigh loss, or simply want to look a little better this summer on the beach, then you must check this out.

PRODUCT REVIEW: PUR COSMETICS LOVE YOUR SELFIE 2 FACE PALETTE

As a beauty fanatic I love trying out and discovering new brands - and only recently I came across PÃœR Cosmetics, and tested out their Best Sellers Kit (which you can read all about here), and as their Cushion Foundation, Bronzer and Strobe Palette (which you can read all about here) - and I really loved their products - so needless to say that when the PÃœR Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 Face Palette landed on my desk, I was naturally very excited.

If you're not familiar with PÃœR Cosmetics, you seriously should get acquainted. The U.S mineral makeup range has the underlying goal of making products formulated with good-for-your-skin ingredients that not only help cover skin imperfections but also help correct its overall appearance.

PÃœR Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 Face Palette is a compact that is loaded with 13 of PÃœR's best-selling products including;

  • Illuminating Highlighter in Photogenic, 2.2g
  • Mineral Glow Bronzing Powder in Composition, 2.2g
  • Baking Powder in Overexposed, 2.2g
  • 8 eye shadows, including 2 matte, 6 shimmery 1g each
  • Lip Gloss in Silhouette - Deluxe sample, 3.9g
  • Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Focal Point, 1.9g
  • Fully Charged Mascara - Deluxe sample, 5ml

In short, this palette contains everything you'll need to take you from desk to dinner, and it even contains a how-to cards, with ideas for both day-time and night-time looks.

Starting with eye shadows, are in a range of offers a very wearable neutral shades, as well as a few deeper and more shimmery shades perfect for night time. There are shades for base, for the crease, shimmery shades to enhance and highlight, and deeper colours to add intensity and drama. The shades are all very smooth and silky soft. They are also all quite pigmented and easy to apply and blend. They also wear well throughout the day, without settling into lines and creases, and with minimal fall out. The only shade I am not sure about is the burgundy shade 'Sketch', but other than that, all other shades are a perfect for someone like me, preferring muted neutral shades.

I have previously talked about the bronzer, which I really love (and you can read about here!), and while I am usually not fond of shimmery bronzers, I do love this Mineral Glow Bronzing Powder as it just has a tiny touch of sheen, giving your skin such a natural tanned look, making it look glowing and radiant. It is silky soft and easy to apply with a powder brush.

The Illuminating Powder in Photogenic is a pale pearly pinkish shade that leaves a lovely natural glow on the apples of your cheeks, while not being too shimmery or glittery, and it leaves your cheeks with a beautiful natural flushed look, perfect for winter-pale skin. The Baking Powder in Overexposed is a very pale dusty rose shade that is perfect for using on the top of the cheek bones. These three powders may not be intended for it, but you can naturally use these as eye shadows too.

Next is the Fully Charged Mascara, which contains among others a magnetic polymer matrix to lift and curl lashes. The large brush makes it easy to apply, and it separates the lashes nicely without any clumping, and just one coat gives a nice definition, length and curl great for day-time, while a few more coats adds more dramatic volume and length.

For the lips, there's the Lip Gloss in Silhouette, which is a medium mauve shade is perfect for day-time looks. It is quite pigmented and it applies smoothly with a beautiful shine, and it is infused wit a lip plumping technology that makes the lips appear fuller. It feels soft and creamy and moisturising on the lips, without being sticky. And because it is so pigmented, you can build it up to almost full intensity, or apply it more lightly for a more subtle look.

For night, there's the Lip Pencil in Focal Point which is a dark mauve shade which is absolutely stunning. It is soft and cream, and so easy to apply, and it leaves a gorgeous velvety matte finish on the lips, yet without feeling dry on the lips. The dark shade means that it has a good wear of several hours, and even when it fades, it does so evenly, leaving a nice stain on the lips.

This is really a very versatile palette, and it includes all the basics you need, plus a few extras that allow you to transform your makeup look from day to night. All the products are of high quality and very pigmented and feel so lovely to use and wear.

The actual palette is slightly bulky, which is however necessary to make room for the lip pencil, lip gloss and mascara, but does mean that you may find it too big for the handbag for everyday use. Personally I am rarely one for applying makeup on the go, so for me, it will be to be used at home, or take with me when travelling, for which I find it absolutely perfect.

All the products are really lovely and of such high quality, and considering the amount of products that you get, this is extremely well priced, so I highly recommend you check out this palette. Personally I also really liked the mascara which I can imagine repurchasing, as well as I really liked the lip pencil, and would love to explore more different shades.

PÃœR Cosmetics Love Your Selfie 2 Face Palette - RRP: $62
Available from select MYER Stores.

PRODUCT REVIEW: ELLA BACHE ETERNAL + REPLENISHING DAY CREAM AND REGENERATING NIGHT CREAM

Always on the hunt for the latest and greatest within anti-ageing products, I was naturally very excited when the newest launches from Ella Baché landed on my desk. So today its going to all about the new Ella Baché Eternal+ Replenishing Day Cream and Eternal+ Regenerating Night Cream.

These creams are intended for those with older skin types and those wanting to combat the signs of ageing, and sadly I do fall into that group…

The key ingredient of the Ella Baché Eternal+ Replenishing Day Cream contains is encapsulated diamond powders to gently exfoliate the skin for visibly firmer, lifted, rejuvenated even complexion that is simply more radiant. This cream is rich, and contains 4 premium olive and myrtle extracts from the Mediterranean basin which contains one of the most powerful anti-free radical molecules targeting visible signs of ageing. It helps add moisture to the skin, to encourage longevity, reduction in dark sports while rejuvenating the skins appearance, making it feel smoother, regenerated, lifted and plumped.

The cream also contains a combination of anti-ageing ingredients:
  • Malinic Olive Acid to speed up the natural repair process and to stimulate.
  • Dill Phyto Extracts to increase skin elasticity and firmness.
  • Oligogalaturonides to promote epidermal growth and boosts collagen production.
  • Myrtle Polyphenic Fractions, an anti-oxidant and for anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Olive hydroxytyrosol to improve the skins ability to retain moisture and minimise the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Encapsulated Diamond Powder to gently exfoliate the top layer of skin and allow products to penetrate deeper and more effectively, especially for anti-ageing.
  • Adenosine amino acid to assists with anti-wrinkle and skin smoothing.
  • Glycerol, a humectant which draws moisture from the air forming a protective layer to prevent water loss.
  • Fatty Acids to help produce the skins natural oil barrier and keep the skin plumper, hydrated and youthful looking.

The Ella Baché’s Eternal+ Regenerating Night Cream works to reveal a visibly younger looking skin each morning. The cream is very rich and soothing is loaded the same extracts from the Mediterranean basic, along with essential nutrients from Royal Jelly and Hyaluronic Acid Spheres for a visibly firmer more youthful appearance, and it promises that already after three days skin feels more comfortable, supported and toned, and after two weeks that skin feels restored and lifted for longer.

The Night Cream also contains a mixture of powerful re-densifying, re-generating, and anti-wrinkle ingredients:

  • Royal Jelly to regenerate dermal tissue, stimulate cell metabolism and moisturise. Royal Jelly also acts as an anti-septic and anti-inflammatory.
  • Hyaluronic Acid Spheres, responsible for water absorption, elasticity and distribution of nutrients within the skin. Its water absorption abilities allow the epidermis to achieve excellent water binding capabilities.
  • Micro Collagen to firm, lift, reduce appearances of deep wrinkles and increase hyaluronic acid production.
  • Oats Glucose Polysaccharides (beta glucan), an anti-inflammatory that activates immune cells, stimulates collagen deposition and is a natural skin healer.
  • Malinic Olive Acid to speed up the natural repair process and to stimulate.
  • Oligogalaturonides, for anti-ageing properties to promote epidermal growth and boost collagen production.
  • Myrtle Polyphenic Fractions known for its anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

I've been using the day cream and night cream, for a few weeks, so what do I think…. Having combination skin that is often prone to breakouts, I am always concerned when trying out new anti-ageing products, mainly as they are often rich and heavy, and at times make my skin congested very quickly. But thankfully that has not been the case. Being winter, my skin does tend to become a little drier, and need a little extra care, so the richness of these creams has been very well received by my skin. Both creams absorb into the skin fairly quickly, although the slightly richer night cream does take a little longer, but once they have, both leave the skin feeling velvety soft and smooth, and with a lovely radiant sheen to the skin, so even the day, the skin looks great without makeup. That said, it of course still works perfectly under makeup too.

Since starting to use these creams, I can clearly see that my skin is both see and feel softer, smoother and more hydrated and plumbed too, as well as I also feel that it is starting to look more even, with some minor pigmentation as well as recent marks from blemishes appears to be minimised, so overall I feel that my skin is looking more youthful and glowing. Some would no doubt have found it better if the day cream had also contained some SPF, but that said, personally I actually prefer that it doesn’t, and add it on top, when I need it.

The products come in beautiful heavy duty white jars with silver lids, and they have a gorgeous subtle floral scent. I would have loved if the products had come with a little spatula, but thankfully I have one myself so I don't have to continuously dip my fingers into the jar. The products are very concentrated so you seriously only need a pea sized amount, so while the products may be a tad pricey, they will last you a long time, and your skin will thank you for it.

THE BEST ANTI-AGEING HAND CREAMS FOR SOFT YOUTHFUL HANDS

They say hands are one of the first areas to show age. And no wonder, they are always exposed to the environments, be it cold winds during winter or the harsh sun during summer. So today I'll talk about some of my favourite anti-ageing hand creams.

First up there's the Clarins Age Control Hand Lotion SPF15 is a gorgeous lightweight cream that absorbs into the hands instantly, without any need to massage it in. It leaves the hands feeling lovely and soft and with a powdery satin feel, and without feeling greasy or sticky as it is also non-oily. It contains a variety of plant extracts, and promises to help prevent age spits from forming, while brightening existing age spots and promote a more even and younger looking tone, as well as condition the nails. Generally I feel that this cream has made my hands look lightly more even-toned, and my nails, including cuticles are no longer feeling as dry, having clearly benefited from the daily use of this lotion.

The cream also has an amazing subtle floral scent, which also lingers on the hands for long after the cream has absorbed into the hands, and I also love that it has added SPF to protect from further sun damage.

Then there's the Medik8 Hydr8™ B5 Hand Cream SPF15, which is a is a thicker and richer hand cream, which also absorbs without any greasiness, although it does take a few moments longer than the Clarins. But the wait is worth it, as it leaves the hands feeling super moisturised, with an invisible film on the surface of the skin to neutralise pollutants and prevent them from being absorbed into the epidermis, while also shielding the skin against other irritants such as carbon monoxide and sulphur dioxide from industrial fumes and car emissions, along with particles from i.e. cigarette smoke, and thereby deminishing pollution-caused ageing effects such as redness, irritation and dull, devitalised skin.

The cream also contains ingredients to add intense moisture to he skin to nourish, help with moisture retention and help heal and plump the skin. It has quickly helped save my dry hands, leaving them so soft and smooth. I also love that this one also comes with SPF15, and that it has the most divine citrus scent.

Next there's the Dr. Hauschka Regenerating Hand Cream, which is loaded with rich oils and waxes to offer the skin intensive nourishment and protection, while stimulating the skin's moisture activating ability, supporting the skin's strength and elasticity as well as natural resilience, and regenerating ageing skin. The rich ingredients does meant hat this intense cream takes a few moments to absorb, but it leaves even the driest of hands feeling silky soft and smooth for hours.

I love that it comes in an easy to use pump bottle, and that it is made using natural and organic ingredients, certified to NATRUE standards, as well as free from all the nasty chemical ingredients including synthetic fragrances, dyes, preservatives, mineral oils, parabens, silicones, phthalates, PEGs etc. It has a lovely, slightly spicy scent, from the natural ingredients including red clover.

Then there there's the Dr. Lewinn's Essentials Hand & Nail Cream is another incredible anti-ageing hand cream. It contains among others aloe, and multi vitamins including A, B and E, and it helps add intense moisture and nourishment to the hands, and leave them with protected from damage by creating an invisible protection layer on the skin. The cream is very rich, yet absorbs quickly and easily into the hands and leaves them so much softer and smoother. And after just a short time, it leaves the hands not only soft, smooth and thoroughly hydrated, and hence healthier and younger too. And all while caring and improving your nails and cuticles at the same time.

Finally, there's the Organic Island Body Nourishing Hand Cream, which is a certified organic Australian brand. And of course it is also free from all the chemicals including sulphates, silicones, synthetic colours and fragrances, parabens, petrochemicals, preservatives, mineral oils etc. Rather, this anti-ageing hand cream is made with advanced active natural ingredients including lychii berry, olive leave, rosehip, avocado, shea butter, vitamin E and macadamia. The cream promises to help heal , nourish, hydrate and protect the hands from environmental stress, while improving the texture of the skin, and transforming tired and dry skin into renewed, soft and subtle hands with a more youthful appearance. The cream is lightweight, and absorbs into the skin after a few moments, immediately leaving the hands feeling so incredibly silky soft and with a lovely sheen. It has a lovely natural floral scent, which you can only love. It doesn't get much better than certified organic anti-ageing!!

So there you go, a selection of amazing anti-ageing hand creams for different budgets too.

PRODUCT REVIEW: MILANI BLUSH, BRONZER, AND SETTING SPRAY FROM THE BEAUTY DRAWERS

One of those brands there has been so much hype about amongst beauty editors and bloggers, is Milani Cosmetics, and in particular about their blushes, though lately more of their different products are also getting a lot of mentions. I am not sure why I have never actually gotten around to trying their products, until I was so lucky to get a few sent to me thanks to being a brand ambassador for the new online store The Beauty Drawers.

Lets start with the Milani Cosmetics Baked Blush. These blushes are made from being baked in the sun, on terracotta tiles in Italy, which does give them an added charm. At the Beauty Drawers, they are available in a massive 11 shades, and I put three of those to the test;

  • Dolce Pink - The palest of the three, a beautiful hot pink that has been swirled together with a lighter pink shade, along with golden shimmery particles
  • Corallina - A darker, coral pinky-red shade, swirled together with a pale pearlescent shade, again with shimmery particles
  • Red Vino - The darkest of the three, a burgundy-red wine shade with swirled together with a golden shade, and again with the shimmer

As promised these blushes are insanely pigmented so you can build them up to be very intense and vibrant, and you have to be cautious that you don't apply too much. A little seriously goes a long way, and the tiniest bit is sufficient for a sheer yet glowing and radiant look.

The blushes come in little round golden pots with a clear lid, and underneath the blush you'll find a tiny brush and also a mirror. The little brush is as such soft enough, but personally I prefer to use my own larger and softer brushes, also as I find you'll get a better and more blended result. But if you do tend to apply makeup on the go, the included brush and mirror is certainly a great touch.

The three shades I tried are all gorgeous their own right, but if I had to pick a favourite, it would probably be Corallina, followed by Dolce Pink. I do also like Red Vino, but the darker shade means that I think it will suit pale my skin tone a little better during summer when I have a slight tan.

At the low price of just $15.95, these blushes are seriously a great buy, and I already know that I’ll need to get my hands on a few more shades from the range.

Next up is the Milani Cosmetics Rose Powder Blush. This is seriously the most stunning blush you ever did see with its embossed rose, so no wonder you'll find more pictures of this one all over Instagram. This Rose blush is available in three gorgeous shades from The Beauty Drawers and I put the shade Romantic Rose to the test, which is a matte nude dusty rose shade. And this shade is the best shade for those with pale skin, giving you a beautiful and very natural blushed cheek. Perfect for everyday makeup, or a barely there look, also because it applies with just a very subtle sheen. Absolutely stunning. And as with the baked blushes, this one is also quite pigmented, so you have the choice if you want to apply just a sheer wash of colour, or have a more intense look.

The blush comes in a golden compact with a clear lid, so you can see and admire the beautiful embossing - and unlike the Baked Blush, this one doesn't come with a brush or mirror included, which does make the packing slightly more slimline and stylish, and again, I actually personally prefer this and leave the little brush out.

The blush is seriously stunning, both to look at and to use, that again, I think I'll need more of these in my life. And yet again, considering the high quality, it comes at a bargain price of just $17.95, also because it holds a massive 17g, which is a lot of a blush!

Then there's the Milani Cosmetics Baked Bronzer, which is also baked on Italian terracotta tiles. It is available in three shades, and I put the shade, Dolce to the test, which I believe is the darkest shade. However, even it is still perfect for my medium beige skin, and the bronzer swirled with shimmer, gives a lovely natural glowing finish. I am not usually a huge fan of shimmery bronzers as I feel they often end up being too shimmery and glittery, plus makes my combination skin look even greasier, but this one only has the tiniest amount of shimmer, giving the skin a lovely radiant and healthy sheen. It comes in a round compact, with the included small brush and mirror underneath the actual bronzer, and again, I much prefer, and feel I get a much better and more natural and even finish if I apply with a larger and softer powder brush, that said, it is certainly a great inclusion if you tend to apply makeup on the go.

Finally, there's the Milani
Cosmetics Make it Dewy Setting Spray, which is the ultimate 3-in-1 product that will hydrate, illuminate and set. It spray can be used both under makeup for a moisture boost, as well as on top to set the makeup and make it last up to 16 hours without creasing, smudging or fading, even my combination skin. It also gives the skin a lovely radiant healthy glow. The spray applies in a super fine mist and has a lovely cooling and refreshing feeling on the skin, so you can also use it throughout the day to freshen up. It has the most beautiful fresh fruity scent, thanks to containing extracts from among others water melon. Another must try from the brand.

So there you have it. I am honestly not sure why I have not gotten around to trying anything from Milani
Cosmetics before, as these products are seriously amazing. The quality is so high considering their very affordable prices. I know I'll be reaching for these products again and again, and now even more keen than ever trying even more products from the brand. I highly recommend that you try them too!

PRODUCT REVIEW: OLAY REGENERIST MICRO-SCULPTING CREAM AND MIRACLE BOOST YOUTH PRE-ESSENCE

When it comes to good skincare, I admit that I am not usually one to hesitate when it comes to price. But that said, I do love it when efficient products come at budget friendly prices - such as the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream and the Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence.

These anti-ageing products make some pretty hefty claims. Among others that they outperform one of the world's most expensive cream costing $350. Now, I haven't quite got that kind of budget available for my skincare, so I am unable to say if I feel that is true, but I can talk about what I think of the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream and the Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence..

The Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence has been designed to supercharge the benefits of your other skincare products, and it is the first product you apply after cleansing the skin and before moisturising. This super-light pre-essence contains among others Niacinamide, and amino-peptides, and it absorbs quickly into the skin and helps visibly reduce fine lines, pores and firms skin to reveal naturally radiant and well hydrated skin. But it also helps jump start skin renewal, in fact, just one drop supposedly helps start the renewal of a million cells!! It also helps increase the absorption of Niacinamide, one of the key active ingredients also found in the Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream.

The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream also contains Hyaluronic Acid and an amino-peptide complex with super hydrating power to help visibly firm the skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and helps restore elasticity and suppleness. Yet while the cream is so rich, it still manages to be a very light cream that doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin or clog up the skin’s pores. It is recommended to use the cream morning and night, in conjunction with a gentle massage focusing on three key points, the eye contour area, the jaw line, to not only relax the skin, but also stimulate circulation.

So what do I think of these products... With combination skin prone to breakouts, heavy and rich anti-ageing products do not generally agree with my skin, but I have to say that I really like the lightness of these creams, and the fact that it works well under makeup and that when I use then at night, my skin is not greasy or congested when I wake in the morning. I am not too sure if my fine lines and wrinkles have actually minimised, however, I do feel that my skin feels and looks deeply nourished and moisturised, and my skin therefore is more plumb and glowing, and the mere fact that it hasn't made my skin break out, something that is very common when I use anti-ageing products means that I wouldn’t hesitate purchasing these products again.

The cream comes in both a standard as well as a fragrance free version, which I really like -although my skin is not sensitive, I do like that there is an option for those that have. I also love the heavy duty red jar and bottles that the products comes in, which does make it look even more luxurious and expensive than they are.

PRODUCT REVIEW: TRILOGY FACIAL EXFOLIANT, EXFOLIATING BODY BALM AND RADIANCE MASK

I admit that while I love the newer chemical scrubs that have flooded the market in recent years, I do love a good gritty scrub that you can actually feel working, although these can actually also irritate or damage the skin. But did you know that a single bottle of exfoliator can contain a massive Did you 2.8 million micro plastic ingredients per bottle, and these ingredients essentially end up in rivers and oceans, polluting them and putting sea life a huge danger too, and at some point, we may actually end up even eating them through the food we eat. Pretty horrible thought if you ask me.

Good news is that these micro-plastic ingredients are in the process of being banned. The United States and Canada have already begun the process of banning microbeads, and Australia has threatened a ban if companies do not voluntarily remove them from their products. The New Zealand government likewise announced in January of this year that cosmetic products containing microbeads will be banned in July 2018. While this is a great step in the right direction, luckily some brands such as Trilogy are taking it even more seriously and not selling any products contain these plastic beads.

Still they have some amazing microbead free exfoliators include such as the Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant. This exfoliator is so super gentle even by those with very sensitive skin a few times a week. It contains natural, biodegradable, non-abrasive jojoba wax super-fine microspheres to gently polish the skin, refine texture and improve clarity without irritating or compromising the skin’s natural barrier function. It is also NATRUE certified product, which means that it has an internationally recognised accreditation that guarantees cruelty-free and environmentally friendly practices. Products bearing the NATRUE mark are non-GMO, made from entirely natural ingredients and do not contain synthetic fragrances, colors or preservatives, petroleum-derived ingredients, silicone oils or derivatives.
The scrub contains a base of sweet almond, evening primrose and certified organic rosehip oil, active honey enzymes and camellia oil that work to lift dead skin cells while conditioning botanical extracts of macadamia nut and calendula soften and soothe for a radiant glow. The scrub really is so gentle on the skin, but don't be mistaken, as you're left with a skin that is so super soft afterwards.

If you need a scrub for the body, then you need to try the Trilogy Exfoliating Body Balm. This tub of body polisher comes in a large tub that makes it easy to use in the shower, and like the face scrub, it is also NATRUE certified. The scrub of course also does not contain plastic micro beads, but finely ground rosehip seed powder, that are biodegradable and safe to environment. As the name suggests, it has the consistency like a body balm, thanks to containing rosehip oil, sweet almond oil and beeswax, to nourish, soften and protect the skin - and it really is like slathering on a moisturising treatment while giving your body a scrub at the same time - which in the end leaves your skin so silky soft and smooth that you can almost skip your usual body cream. It has a very gentle and natural scent.

Speaking of treatments, I also thought it worthwhile to speak of the Trilogy Mineral Radiance Mask, which I've so been loving lately. This certified natural mask is made with a base of kaolin, to help purify and give the skin a deep clean drawing out excess sebum and impurities, adding radiance, a more even skin tone and improved circulation. It also contains evening primrose and certified organic rosehip oil to nourish and hydrate the skin, as well as native New Zealand pohutakawa and other botanical extracts help tone, soothe and regenerate skin

The creamy mask can be used once or twice a week on cleansed skin, leaving it on to dry for about 10 or so minutes before rinsing it. And it has really made a significant improvement to my skin. Immediately after use, it makes my skin feel so clean deep down every pore, and overall, I feel that it has made my skin less oily, and I also believe that it has reduced the amount of breakouts that I have been getting too, and all without drying it our or making it irritated.

I am seriously loving these products from Trilogy, and highly recommend that you check them out too.

Trilogy Gentle Facial Exfoliant - RRP: $38.95 / 75ml
Trilogy Exfoliating Body Balm - RRP: $35.95 / 185ml
Trilogy Radiance Mask - RRP: $31.95 / 60ml

PRODUCT REVIEW: VTECH MY ZONE LAPTOP

As a parent, I love seeing my boys entertained with great toys, but what I love even more, is when their toys are educational at the same time, and one of those brands who is on the forefront of this, is Vtech. Today my 4 year old boy is putting the new Vtech My Zone Laptop to the test.

The Vtech My Zone Laptop is intended for Preschoolers, aged from 3 to 6 years, and in essence helping kids 'get into the zone' and prepare themselves for getting ready to go to school.

The My Zone Laptop offers 30 interactive activities with progressive learning levels that teach a variety of subjects that gradually increase in difficulty, so they are continuously challenged. Kids can customise their laptop with their name, age, avatar, and favourite tunes, and it among others has the following features:
  • 8 Letter & Word activities teach children to spell their name and explore letters and words.
  • 8 Number & Shape activities teach children how to count their age and explore shapes and numbers.
  • 4 Logic activities strengthen problem-solving skills through puzzle and logic games.
  • 5 Animal & Food activities identify animal sounds and footprints and categorise foods into fruits and vegetables.
  • 4 Music activities explore musical instrument sounds and enjoy popular melodies played in Rock, Jazz, Reggae & Country styles with a total of 40 tunes.

This means that this cool little laptop will prompt kids learning;
  • Basic math skills by learning to recognise numbers and shapes, develop basic counting and skip counting skills
  • Language development by introducing upper and lowercase letters, letter sounds and words
  • Science concepts by learning which foods are fruits and which are vegetables
  • Auditory stimulation by learning to recognise the sounds of instruments and melodies
  • Visualisation and memory by developing logic and problem-solving skills through puzzles and games

My boy loved that he has his own little laptop, and I think the fact that it actually looks very similar to an 'adult' laptop, with 'in-built mouse pad' and it doesn't appear as 'plastic and kiddie' also has a great significance, making him feel like a big boy. He has spent hours and hours playing on it, continually discovering new things it can do, and he is teaching himself to do - which is the part that I really love, as he really doesn't realise that he is learning so many things through play. The laptop is light and compact, so it is also easy to take with you when you're out and about.

Considering all the electronic features in this little laptop, I find that the low price of $34.95 is an absolute bargain, and the fact that it is aimed at kids aged from 3-6 years, and that it is so well thought out that it will keep challenging him to learn, also means that he will enjoy playing with it for several years. Highly recommended.

Vtech My Zone Laptop - RRP $34.95
Available from Target, Myer, Independent toy stores, and select online retailers.

PRODUCT REVIEW: OBAGI MEDICAL HYDRATE FACIAL MOISTURIZER AND ELASTIDERM EYE CREAM

Today I am going to talk about a brand that is completely new to me, and which I frankly had never heard of before until some products landed on my desk. So today I'm very excited to be talking about the Obagi Medical Hydrate Facial Moisturizer and ELASTIderm Eye Cream.

But first, if you are not familiar with Obagi Medical, let me quickly give you the run down. The American brand has been around since 1988, and is part of a global specialty pharmaceutical company founded by leading skin care experts. The Obagi Medical products are designed to minimise the appearance of premature skin ageing, skin damage, hyperpigmentation, acne marks, and sun damage.

Now onto the actual products. The Obagi Medical Hydrate Facial Moisturizer is a light lotion that has been designed for all skin types, and as it is so light, it is also perfect for my combination skin prone to breakout, also because It is non-comedogenic so it doesn’t clog up my pores. It absorbs quickly and easily into my skin, and leaves it soft and velvety smooth, without any greasiness, so it also works great as a base under makeup.

The moisturiser promises to combat dryness, and provide long-lasting hydration. It contains among others Hydromanil, a technologically advanced ingredient which retains water and gradually delivers moisture to the skin, along with shea butter, mango butter, avocado and glycerin. So not only does this cream provide immediate moisturization, it also continues to hold water in the layers of your skin over time. In fact, as demonstrated in a moisturization study, Hydrate Facial Moisturizer provides 8-hour moisture protection! I am yet o see any improvement in regards to my signs of ageing, but I do love that it adds such intense moisture to my skin without making it breakout, so it is a perfect moisturiser for me, both morning and night, especially during winter when my skin tends to become a little drier. It does have a slightly odd scent, but thankfully it faces quickly, and the pump bottle makes it quick and easy to dispense just the amount needed.

Then there's the Obagi Medical ELSATIderm Eye Cream is a thick light cream that promises to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around they eyes, for a tighter, smoother and more resilient looking skin thanks to a bi-mineral complex and malonic acid. The cream also contains Blueberry extract to add antioxidants to help eliminate free radicals, and Penetrating Therapeutics™, an Obagi technology that drives ingredients deep into the skin to help achieve optimal results. The cream comes in a rather large jar, which is a little deceiving as the contents is about the same as most other eye creams, 15ml. Personally, I do creams in either tubes or pump bottle to avoid sticking my fingers into the cream over and over, but I do have a spatula myself so I can avoid it. Anyway, apart from that, this eye cream is really lovely. I love that it has next to no scent so it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes, and it absorbs quickly so I can apply my makeup immediately. Again, I am yet to notice any major improvements in my skin, or the amount of wrinkles or lines that I have, but I also never expect those so quickly. But I have noticed that the skin around my eyes in general looks more well hydrated, and consequently I guess it does appear as if my lines have 'filled out' and my skin looks more plumb and youthful.

Overall, I have really enjoyed putting these products to the test, and I will actually enjoy using these up, and most definitely look to try more products from the large range.

Obagi Medical Hydrate Facial Moisturizer - RRP: $50 / 48g
Obagi Medical ELASTIderm Eye Cream - $99.95 / 15g

PRODUCT REVIEW: ANTHEIA EXPRESS FAKE TAN REMOVER KIT

I admit it, while I naturally like how using a self tanners can make you feel you look better, I am not the biggest user of them. Main reason is that I am not particularly fond of their smells, but secondly, I am not very good at applying them either. An then there's that period in-between when the tan starts to fade and you can be left looking a bit patchy, I can't say that I enjoy that phase. But thanks to ANTHEIA there is now a natural way you can remove your tan..

ANTHEIA Express Fake Tan Remover is a safe and effective fake tan remover that gently removes your fake tan without any harsh scrubbing, or by using harsh chemicals or exfoliators. On the contrary, the products gently softens and strips fake tan by simply spraying on, waiting one to two minutes, then wiping off with the muslin cloth. It is formulated with botanical extracts such as aloe vera, chamomile, orange oil, argan oil and acai berry, and the products are free of parabens, sulphates, harsh preservatives and artificial colours, and is not tested on animals.

The ANTHEIA Fake Tan Removal Kit has everything you need to quickly remove you fake tan, including;
  • 1 x ANTHEIA Express Tan Remover Base with Acai Berry & Aloe Vera Extract (120ml)
  • 1 x Express Tan Remover Base with Acai Berry and Aloe Vera Extract
  • 1 x REMOVE IT Spray Bottle
  • 3x REMOVE IT Sachets
  • 1 x ANTHEIA Liquid Micro Peel with Organic Chamomile & Argan Leaf Extract (75ml)
  • 1 x ANTHEIA Muslin Removal Cloth
  • 1 x ANTHEIA Buffer sponge
  • 1 x ANTHEIA Travel Bag

This kit contains sufficient product to remove up to three fake tans, and they work in unison to remove the tan, while restoring the skin, leaving it soft and smooth, and gently exfoliated too.

The product are super easy to use, and takes just two steps. To use, you simply take the empty spray bottle, combine the Express Tan Remover Base with one of the REMOVE IT sachets and shake well. You then spray the solution over any fake tan or areas you want to remove, or perhaps your tan has simply gone too dark and you want to tone it down, or maybe if you're like me, try to fix a mishap. And then you wait 2-4 minutes, before wiping the skin clean with the cloth while it is still wet from the solution.

The next step is massaging the Liquid Micro Peel into the skin to remove any remaining tan and product build up, while also giving the skin a gentle exfoliation, removing any dead skin cells. It leaves the skin feeling so soft and smooth, and with a nice dewy glow. And all while restoring the skin's pH balance and moisture levels.

These products really are amazing, and I love how gentle they are on my skin, and that they can remove a tan, whilst caring for my skin at the same time, all thanks to being loaded with botanicals. And making sure your previous tan/s are completely removed, before applying a new one, will help ensure a better result, and thanks to these products from ANTHEIA you can achieve a flawless fake tan each time!

PRODUCT REVIEW: OTTOMAN3 BROW BONE HIGHLIGHTER AND BROW POWDER

Just a few years ago, brow products were relatively rare, but today with the trend towards larger and more natural brows, means that those of us who have spend years plucking our brows according past seasons trends, means we're not reaching for brow products on a daily basis. And as a consequence, more and more are popping up helping everyone achieve the perfect brows.

One of those new brands is Ottoman3. The brand not only has brow bars where you an go and get your brows professionally done - they also have a beautiful range you can purchase online or in their shops. I've been lucky to put a few products to the test..

I tried the Ottoman3 Brow Powder in the shade Rich Brown, which is a dark brown shade, and perfect for my dark brows. The powder has been designed to help fill in your brows for a more natural look without any harsh lines. It is easy to apply with the Ottoman3 Double Ended Brow Brush, using the angled brush to fill in the eye brow shape, before blending it all in and coming into shape with the bristled spoolie at the other end. This brush has the classic Ottoman3 design in white with gold details, and so easy to use.

The matte brow powder is very pigmented and light too, and it stays put all day, without smudging or fading, and all while looking so natural too. The Brow Powder comes in a little compact, which considering how little you'd need to use each time, is actually huge, so it will literally last you forever. But due to the shade of this, you can actually also use this as an eyeshadow too if you like . The white compact with the golden details is absolutely stunning and also comes with an internal mirror.

Then there's the Ottoman3 Brow Bone Highlighter, which is a thick crayon style pencil that is designed to define and highlight the brow bone for a more fresh and luminous look. The pen has a matte highlighter in one end and a shimmery in the other, so you can pick your preference. The matte gives a soft highlight look while the shimmery end gives you more of a dewy glow. Of course you can also use it elsewhere, as the dual ended pen makes it possible to highlight, shade, contour and define, so you can also use it to brighten the corner of your eyes, or as I have, even used it lightly as an eye shadow for a simple look. Or you can of course also use it cupids bow of your lips. The pen has a soft and creamy formula that makes it quick and easy to apply, and it blends easily and evenly into a natural look.

And that about this cute Ottoman3 Cosmetic Bag for storing all our makeup. The stunning white design with the signature gold trim and detail is just so divine, and the details has been inspired by the founders long haul flight overseas, touching up her makeup just before arrival, when a flight attendant commented "Touching Up before you Touch Down?', and I think we can all relate - I know I can! And with this cute bag, it means you can store all your essentials in a stylish way.

These products from Ottoman3 not only look amazing with their white and gold designs, they really are beautiful to use too, so be sure to go check out their products, you won't regret it.

Ottoman3 Brow Bone Highlighter - RRP: $26 / 3.34g
Ottoman3 Brow Powder - RRP: $32 / 4.3g
Ottoman3 Duo Brow Brush #1 - RRP: $18
Ottoman3 Makeup Bag - RRP: $22

HOT WHEELS MAKES PLAY EPIC

Hot Wheels, every little and also BIG boys fantasy. From the bright orange track to the endless possibilities of what you can do for hours upon hours of fun for little thrill seekers. My two little boys and their big boy daddy have been busily setting up tracks and using the new Ultimate Garage and the Track Builder Systems as the base from where it all happens. This was a project all three boys in the house took on to try and build the most epic track of the century, and luckily for us we had the room to accommodate this large and ever evolving structure...

Here's some of the new Hot Wheels products we used for our epic race experience..

The Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage is a huge play set that has a massive 36 parking spaces, and heaps of other places to park your Hot Wheels car collection. The cars can go on countless adventures from here in 8 different play zones, from a trip down the spiralling ramp and around the bay, trying to avoid the hungry attacking shark, go up one of the two working elevators, and then race side-by-side down the ramp to see who's the winner. The cars can also go to the car wash, fill up with petrol, or go grab a burger. And what makes this cool play set even more fun, is that it has lots of lights and sounds that sound very realistic too. It also comes with 5 cool Hot Wheel Cars and a car-grabbing helicopter that can land on the helipad.

The Hot Wheels Roto Revolution is for 1 or 2 players, where you can challenge each other, by launching the car with the adjustable power boosters into the rotating motorised loop and hold your breath hoping it wont crash in any of the crash zones, either on the track, on the ground or in the air. The game takes a little skill, knowing when exactly to launch the car without immediately crashing, and the last car still standing without a crash, wins. The set also has parking areas for the cars, and comes with two cool Hot Wheel Cars.

Then there's the Hot Wheels Track Builder System. The Construction Crash Kit comes with over 40 pieces including tracks and Mega Construx ('lego style' blocks) to help build up the track and fly off as the cars crash into the brick panels and see the bricks fly off.

The clever box allows almost endless tracks and configurations to be built including lane ways, towers and loops, with easy to follow instruction manuals. You can even build up the track using the cardboard box the kit comes in, so clever. As well as tracks, and bricks, the kit also comes with a launcher, multiple crash levers and connectors, and 2 cool Hot Wheels cars.

Alternatively there's the Hot Wheels Track Builder System - Stunt Box, which is a cool little 'suit case' full of tracks, blocks and parts, that you again can use to keep your imagination run wild as you build an endless tracks. It includes tracks, loops, ramps, launcher, connectors and track turns, and also a cool Hot Wheel Car. And what's even more cool about this set, is that you can use the actual box to build up your track, and when you're done, it can be used as clever storage.

Finally, there's of course the Hot Wheels Cars. As well as the cars included with the play sets, you can also purchase them individually, and let me tell you, there are so many different ones available, and with new ones launched all the time, that your kids will want to keep collecting.

In addition, we also used some cars and other Hot Wheels play sets my boys already had, but common for all, is that these Hot Wheels toys seriously are incredible. My boys,
both the four and two year old (and daddy too!!) are having the best time placing the cars at the top of the ramps and letting them fly down the tracks, going through the loops and crash, all while competing who has the fastest cars and can do the best tricks. I also love the fact that my little boys can use their imagination and creativity and continue experimenting building and creating new tracks and scenes, which they can use for role play, which so far among others have included police car chases after the bad guys, firemen going to put out the fire, or going to get the family take-away for dinner.

I also love that you can continue to build and add on to the Hot Wheels sets with new kits and tracks as everything is built to work together. And for a little extra fun, the kids can also incorporate house hold items or furniture for extra steep ramps etc for even more cool stunts. And as the options are endless, all depending on their creativity and imagination, it also means that they will continue to play with these toys for years to come, which in my opinion makes then great value toys too.

The Hot Wheels Toys are recommended for kids aged 5+, and note that this kit comes with small parts, so it is not recommended for kids under 3 years of age.

Hot Wheels Ultimate Garage - RRP: $139.99
Hot Wheels Roto Revolution - RRP: $39.99
Hot Wheels Track Builder System - Construction Crash Kit - RRP: $39.99
Hot Wheels Track Builder System - Stunt Box - RRP: $29.99
Hot wheels Individual Cars - RRP: $2.29

Available from leading toy stores, including Toys r Us, Myer, David Jones, Target, Kmart, and Big W - and many are currently available at great prices during the July Toy Sales.

*Note, products have been kindly provided and this is a sponsored post - but the above opinion and statements are in no affected by this, and we've truly loved playing with these toys. The products have been reviewed in accordance with my Disclosure Policy.
